Smoky Mountain Sunrise, Newfound Gap, Great Smoky Mountains. 

The story behind the image:

Smoky Mountain Sunrise was photographed at an overlook at Newfound Gap in the Great Smoky Mountains. Due to elevation, the weather at Newfound Gap is very unpredictable, so one ever knows what will happen at sunrise. Many times, the early morning trip does not result in an amazing image like this one. However, on this particular morning everything fell into place and magic happened. In addition to timing and weather, when photographing in certain lighting situations, the use of a filter allows one to capture the colors and the beauty of the scene with the correct exposure.

The goal of my photography is to capture a moment in time, and to share with the viewer the beauty that I observed. My images are single images. I use a program called Lightroom to process my RAW image to prepare them for printing. The image is then printed in the USA on metal or archival quality professional photo paper which is mounted and coated for durability. All images are copyright protected and reproduction in any format is strictly prohibited.
