Indigo Bunting on Sunflower
Indigo Bunting on Sunflower
Indigo Bunting on Sunflower, Foothills of the Smokies.
The story behind the image:
Sometimes wildlife just won't cooperate when you are trying to get the perfect shot, but persistence pays off. I went around this field of sunflowers multiple times trying to capture the Indigo Bunting sitting on top of a sunflower. But every time it landed, a male Cardinal would chase it off. Eventually another bird distracted the Cardinal, and I was able to capture the Indigo perched atop the sunflower.
The vibrant yellows of the sunflowers and blues of the Indigo brighten any room.
The goal of my photography is to capture a moment in time, and to share with the viewer the beauty that I observed. My images are single images. I use a program called Lightroom to process my RAW image to prepare them for printing. The image is then printed in the USA on metal or archival quality professional photo paper which is mounted and coated for durability. All images are copyright protected and reproduction in any format is strictly prohibited.
