Dan Lawson Cabin in the Morning Fog captures the early morning fog in Cades Cove.

The story behind the image:

Dan Lawson built this cabin in 1856 from hewn logs. Sawmills had not yet come to the Cove. Later additions and maintenance of the cabin were completed with sawn lumber. Interestingly, the fireplace instead of being built from local stone was constructed from brick that was made on site. [Reference: Brewer, Carson. Cades Cove Tour, Great Smoky Mountains Association, Gatlinburg, TN, 2010.]

The morning fog, which gave the Smoky Mountains their name, provides an ever changing backdrop in Cades Cove. Each day reveals something new and special to experience. I never grow tired of photographing and exploring Cades Cove.

The goal of my photography is to capture a moment in time, and to share with the viewer the beauty that I observed. My images are single images. I use a program called Lightroom to process my RAW image to prepare them for printing. The image is then printed in the USA on metal or archival quality professional photo paper which is mounted and coated for durability. All images are copyright protected and reproduction in any format is strictly prohibited.
